Abstract
Jamie will share his experience in the logistics industry and his perspective on what the current supply chain challenges are and how the pandemic and US/China trade tensions have impacted it.
Speaker Profile
Jamie was born in Hong Kong but as an infant moved to the Netherlands and the UK and has studied/worked in 10 different international cities mainly as a student (studying foreign languages) and as an expatriate working overseas. A graduate of the University of Huddersfield, Jamie started his career in the logistics industry 20 years ago in Hong Kong as a sales representative. He was thereafter transferred to Shanghai where he serviced customers from all walks of life and businesses. Due to his success in the HK/Shanghai markets and his fluency in Korean, he was seconded to start a greenfield operation in Korea where he built up a company from scratch to a team of 20 people, with an annual revenue of US$10 million within 4 years. He was then seconded to work in Beijing, where he headed up a team of 300 industry professionals servicing the North China region. Jamie is currently based in Vancouver, with his Korean wife Mu-Jin and his cute dog Bori. He currently works for Armstrong Moving as the Western Canada General Manager, continuing his passion of providing service excellence to his customers. The office that Jamie currently runs was also started as a greenfield operation that he opened, allowing him the opportunity again to use his skills of setting up new businesses.
